ATITD Tale 4 Cooking Directory

The database is incomplete, but growing.

I'm still looking for the following: The X/Y data will come in over time, and I'll continue updating as I see more data available.
I have been deducing a lot of the non-herb ingredients, thanks to Arame's research.

Tips for Novice Chefs

The point of this database is to help you find ingredients that go together in meals. Ingredients that are "similar" have a larger effect on the stats of the final recipe. One way to use this database is like this:
  1. Figure out what stats you want to go positive, and what stats you don't want to go negative. Select those in the table above.
  2. Herbs tend to be more potent - that is, add more to a recipe - so start by looking for herbs. Pick "herbs" in the table. Click "Search".
  3. You'll get a list of herbs that meet the stats you picked. Find an herb on the list that you have in stock, and write down its X,Y value.
  4. Next, pick the same stats you did before (you can change the "Increase" choices to "No Decrease" if you want).
  5. We're looking for a base for our recipe, so choose "general". Fill in the X,Y values you recorded earlier. Click "Search".
  6. The items toward the top of this list are the best matches for the herb you picked, and lower "distance" values are better. Distances over 1000 will make your recipe worse rather than better.

Other notes:
  • When you make your recipe, you should use more of the second ingredient you searched for (base) than of the first ingredient (additive).
  • You have to have at least 7 deben of stuff in a recipe to make 1 serving, and every extra 7 deben makes an extra serving. For example, 6 deben of the base plus 1 deben of the additive makes one serving.
  • You can find another pair of ingredients and add that pair to the first pair you found for even better stats. For each point of cooking skill you have, you can have one pair in the recipe. You have to use equal quantities of every base from each pair.
  • Choosing ingredients the way I've described above probably won't give you the biggest stats or longest duration possible, but it should get you started. See the Wiki for more detailed info.

The results returned by this search use Arame's reference data, Quin's base stats data, and tlanthil's Herb:aList as their basis.

Thanks also to Quizzical and Zackron for their exemplary research in T3 which made this site possible.
