What is this weblog?
This website is a group photo weblog. A photo weblog is simply a site where photos are posted on a fairly frequent basis, and then comments can be made by other people (in text or in photo format). If you are unfamiliar with photo weblogs, here are some examples:
The primary difference between those sites and our site is that the photos posted here are done by a group of people.
We are participating in the group photo weblog to have fun and so that we will have the motivation to experiment with photographic techniques and learn about composition, etc.
Unfortunately, group weblogs are hard to set up, and one of the reasons why they frequently fail is because of lack of structure. To give structure, we set up this weblog as a place to play games. One game might be a theme that is set for the week. For instance, if the theme is “Guilty Pleasures”, you could try to get a creative shot of your TV showing that sappy TV show you are embarassed you watch.
Another game could be a “Caption This”. Someone would post a picture, and then everyone else can try to come up with the most amusing caption for the photo. And we have many other ideas for games to play.
Authors are also encouraged to post interesting pictures, even if they aren’t related to the current game or theme. We hope you enjoy reading it.
